Nothing like a bike ride in Charleston and finding a gem of a cafe in a historic hotel. Sitting in my daily bike attire and feeling cozy with my delicious latte. Also love finding healthy snacks and salads around me keeping from the fresh cookies!
It is a beautiful place and its pricy yes. The quality can be hit or miss on lattes. I amways get the cappuccino. If I have to study I come here have a cappuccino then head out to Blum Coffee with outlets and is huge so I get pastries there. Good service always here.
A Must-Visit Coffee Spot in Charleston We stopped by The Black Door Cafe during our first visit to Charleston, and it quickly became a highlight of the trip. The coffee was rich and flavorful—clearly made with care. The atmosphere is sleek, calm, and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the moment. I’d absolutely go out of my way just to have their coffee again.
I was on a girls trip with my elementary/high school friends and we stayed at The Mills House. It was absolutely beautiful! The atmosphere, amenities, pool and staff were all A+. I went to The Black Door cafe every day to get my coffee and the staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to make me feel special - especially Akaria, Fufu and Nef. They were all so sweet, kind, courteous and provided fast, friendly service with a happy, positive vibe. I follow a low carb diet and was so happy that they had sugar free vanilla syrup and heavy whipping cream. I was on vacation, so I splurged with my friends and we shared the chocolate croissant and the chicken biscuit. Both were DELICIOUS! I would go back to Mills House again if I make it back to Charleston and I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering it!
By far one of the best iced Vanilla Lattes I’ve had in this town, smoothest coffee imaginable. Must try a million dollar bar if you stop by! Wonderful ambiance, plenty of seating spread out.

My first experience here was just what I needed: latte and bottled water on the go. I recently stayed at The Mills House Hotel while on business in Charleston. Happy Ash Wednesday. Stopped in for a quick Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a very flavorful brioche bun. sooo delicious. Great music, cool decor and great vibe! Will have to come back for excellent variety of coffee drinks.
This is right inside the Mill’s house hotel. It has some options for outdoor and indoor seating. My go to is their cortado and iced lattes. The staff are always so friendly and they usually have some type of special running. They also have gelato so I also enjoy an affogato here as well. They offer some fun local snacks and other items. I love the vibe and coffee here!
